You may sometimes encounter a “No referring sitemaps detected” message when inspecting your URL in Google Search Console.
Google displays the “No referring sitemaps detected” message when it discovers your URL through means other than the sitemap. For example, Google can find your URL through backlinks.
With that said, the “No referring sitemaps detected” message does not indicate an error and is nothing to worry about. In the meantime, you may want to ensure that Google has indexed your URL.
To do that, type in site:
followed by the post or page URL, into your address bar and click Enter on your keyboard.
site:https://example.com/hiking-tips-for-beginners/
If the content displays in search, it means it has already been crawled and indexed by Google.
If the content does not display in search results, you should return to Google Search Console and click REQUEST INDEXING, as shown below.
